The Abbey Warehouse, Penzance - proposals

The Abbey Warehouse is located on the waterfront in Penzance and looks out across the harbour to St Michael’s Mount.  It was built in the early 1800s as a storage facility to the docks where boats would be directly unloaded into the warehouse. The mouth of a tunnel can be seen inside the warehouse which is reputedly a smugglers' tunnel leading to the Admiral Benbow pub. Whilst being an imposing and interesting building it has struggled to find a modern day use and has been empty and derelict for over 40 years.  We have been working with Arco Studios Ltd in Penzance and Penwith District Council to bring forward plans for the building to be fully restored.  The proposals include bringing the Warehouse back into use as offices and an impressive new link building adjacent incorporating a restaurant and bar. This exciting project is hoped to fit into the wider regeneration projects for the Penzance waterfront.

Any enquiries regarding renting space in the building should be made to Mango Homes on 01422 845615.
